Medical Informatics Engineer

Professional profile:
the sought-after figure will have the role of defining and implementing the strategy of SalutAI from invention to product commercialization on the market, guiding its product and technology development through the various stages. The CEO will manage financial policies and investor relations. They will be the point of reference for team creation and responsible for partnerships in Switzerland and Europe, managing commercial relationships and representing the company towards investors, hospitals/clinics, regulatory authorities, and public institutions.

Tasks:

• guides the corporate strategy, defines the vision and annual business plans, constitutes and leads executive and R&D teams at every stage of the design process; holds the role of Product Manager for SalutAI products
• guides the product roadmap and architecture, including AI models and data coming from devices or physiological sensors
• guides the product verifying applicable laws (Switzerland, EU MDR and US FDA) and is responsible for supervision up to clinical validation
• develop and manage the patent strategy in the fields of biosensing, signal processing, and health data analysis
• responsible for creating the qualified team in Ticino, coordinating internal financial processes, governance, compliance, and HR, verifying short/medium/long-term financial plans, main point of reference for investors
• responsible for establishing collaborations with hospitals in Switzerland and Europe, local research institutes and clinics, insurance companies, and medical device manufacturers
• ensuring product compliance with LPD and GDPR regulations and in the use of AI and health data

Requirements:

• Doctorate (Ph.D) in Computer Science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or strictly related training
• degree in AI in the healthcare sector obtained from relevant and cutting-edge universities/institutes, subsequently integrated with practical experience in the application of AI to health data
• at least 15 years of experience (including in start-ups or as a founder) as CEO or CTO of international technology companies, with at least 10 years of experience leading companies operating in the healthcare and medical device sector
• M&A/Business Development/Governance background
• proven and consolidated practical experience in the field of non-invasive physiological sensing, health monitoring via wearable devices, and multisensory optical biosensors (including blood pressure, respiratory rate, and heart rate), also involving the use of AI models, research and development in the medical device, semiconductor, and EDA software sectors
• multi-year experience in the invention of health technologies, through the stages of R&D, regulatory compliance, up to product commercialization
• multi-year experience in patent regulation, licensing, and intellectual property laws in Swiss, EU, and US FDA regulatory contexts. Specific knowledge of LPD and GDPR is necessary
• strengthened experience in constituting and leading a multinational team of engineers, with particular reference to start-up companies and those operating in the field of AI in the medical and healthcare sector
