School Director

The employer is looking for a:

Dean of Academic Affairs / Chief Academic Officer (reported profession)

Duties:

• direct and coordinate Bachelor, Master programs and other academic activities of the institution.
• promote curriculum development, teaching innovation and interdisciplinary and experiential learning, including the Academic Travel program.
• coordinate faculty activities, evaluation, promotion and professional development processes.
• support scientific research activities, interdisciplinary collaborations and access to competitive funding.
• supervise academic support structures, including Registrar, library, learning services and digital teaching initiatives.
• collaborate on the development of academic policies, student advisory services and initiatives for educational success.
• coordinate accreditation and quality assurance processes according to Swiss and US standards.
• contribute to institutional strategic planning and academic budget management.
• support the development of new academic and continuing education initiatives.

Requirements and qualifications

• terminal academic degree in their disciplinary field, obtained from an accredited institution.
• proven academic leadership and management experience in higher education.
• in-depth knowledge of the US liberal arts university model, preferably gained in a residential context.
• experience in accreditation processes, institutional evaluation and quality assurance.
• knowledge of the Swiss and European university system, or willingness to deepen knowledge of its regulatory and organizational aspects.
• collaborative leadership skills, team coordination and management of relationships with the faculty.
• solid academic and scientific experience; a profile suitable for appointment as a full professor is preferred.
• knowledge of Italian, or willingness to learn it, is considered an advantage. Knowledge of another Swiss national language constitutes an additional preferential qualification.
• category B driving license
